About MoonFire

We are a CUUPs (Covenant of Unitarian Universalist Pagans) Chapter.

We are affiliated with the Unitarian Universalist Church of Arlington (UUCA)

We meet at the UUCA Church, 4444 Arlington Boulevard (corner of Route 50 and George Mason Drive).

We celebrate Ritual the third Sunday of every month. Ritual begins at 1:00 PM and is followed by potluck and fellowship.

Attendees are encouraged to arrive by 12:45 PM and to check the easel at the inside stairs to determine in which room we will be meeting.

Our Mission and Vision Statement

"We strive to build a safe and nurturing community that is inclusive and provides for spiritual growth and service to the Earth and Her children. We are the Hub of the Wheel of Life, the Crossroads where all meet; We are a Chalice of the Goddess; We are of the Earth, rich and empowering; We are a Rock, safe and secure; We are a Rainbow, diverse with many colors yet together in one band; We are a Flame of Spirituality, providing the light to see our path before us."

Imbolc/Brigid's Day Community Ritual

Feb 4

Imbolc Ritual. Imbolc, also known as Oimelc, Brigid's Day, and Candlemas, is a time when we start to feel the returning energies of the young Sun God. This time of Midwinter is also when we honor Brigid, triple Goddess of poetry, healing and smith-craft. This is an excellent time for purification, dedication to one's tradition, and consecration of ritual tools. We ask the Pagan community and friends to join us as we celebrate the fire Goddess Brigid and attune to Her energies of inspiration, healing, and transformation. If you have ritual tools you would like to (re) consecrate, feel free to bring them. We will have a tool consecration altar set up with water from Circle Sanctuary's Brigid's Spring which can be used to cleanse your tools.

Please join MoonFire and Potomac Circle Ministries including Circle Sanctuary Ministers, Jeanet & David Ewing in this community ritual as we celebrate Imbolc and connect with Brigid. Ritual starts at 4:30pm so please feel free to arrive around 4pm. We'll meet in room 13/15 (Library on the 1st floor prior to entering the ritual space. Potluck will follow the ritual - please bring your own feast gear.

Feb 19

Ritual to Avert Gossip and Seek Our Inner Silence. In ancient Rome, sometime between February 18 through 20, the people celebrated the Day of Tacita. She was considered a silent goddess who helped curb gossip and harmful words spoken against people. We will draw on the inspiration of this old festival to seek our inner silence and refrain from spreading harmful words toward others. Join us Sunday, February 19, at 1:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Arlington. Potluck will follow.
